She also understands the need to continue her own education and remain current on training styles as well as all methods of obedience instruction.
Private Training
Pet owner and pet come to Lucy’s for a one-on-one, 1-hour session. Both the owner and pet are taught basic commands. In addition, behavior modifications are briefly discussed. The owner and pet practice those skills on their own between classes as time permits. Pets are required to be current on all vaccinations.
Group Classes
Regular offerings throughout the year! With usually less than 10 students per class, classes meet for approximately 1 hour per class, 1 Saturday per week for 5 weeks. Owner and pet are taught basic obedience commands during class time, with homework assignments to reinforce principles presented in class. Pets are required to be current on all vaccinations.
Focused Training for Positive Results!
Not everyone wants a show dog. Most want that well-mannered household pet that will co-exist with the family. Through positive praise and focused training, we help you achieve your goal using a positive relationship with your pet.
Our training focuses on several simple commands that you build upon after your initial training is complete.
- HEEL: walks politely along your side
- SIT: Sit when you stop walking, or sit on verbal command
- STAY: Allows you to walk away and return to your pet
- COME: Your pet returns to you on command
- DOWN: Your pet lays on command
The core of our training is built upon the belief that the training experience will not succeed unless the training is FUN for both the owner and the pet.
